The Beatrice Wleh Scholarship foundation was created in 2022 with the belief that an educated child with a unique mindset will bring important change to a developing democracy. 

The Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation helps people of West Point and Power Plant communities’ children who might otherwise be unable to pursue their educational ambitions due to a lack of financial resources.

According to the Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundationsecondary education is a cornerstone for change in individuals, families, communities, and nations. 

We dream of a community that values education and ensures that great educational outcomes should be available to all kids, regardless of their financial situation. 

In our communities West Point and Power Plant, secondary education will be open to everyone who have the potential to succeed.

Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation will focus on applicants who have high academic standing and are low-income students.

Mission: Provide West Plain and Power Plant kids who want to overcome significant adversity and poverty with scholarships and support services to promote success in life through education.

Vision: Provide a quarterly relevant life-learning workshops. This exceptional support system distinguishes BWSF from other scholarships to help end the impoverished cycle in the West Point and Power Plant area.

Criteria

The students eligible for assistance must be low-income families with kids who reside in the West Point and Power Plant area and intend to continue their education. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, financial need and the student’s community service record. Students cannot use bribes to increase their grades or get a passing grade. Students should submit a scholarship application on the form provided by The Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation.

An essay must be submitted by each applicant. The essay must be on the following subjects.

  1. A descriptive narrative of you and your family.
  2. Your ambition and aspirations.
  3. Your strengths and weaknesses
  4. Your favorite sport you play, its challenges and why.
  5. Why you deserve this scholarship?
  6. Who is your role model and why?
  7. What personal achievement are most proud of and why.
  8. Tell us about your favorite book, movie, or song and why?
  9. Ask us any questions and submit it to the BWSF scholarship committee.

The Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation offers merit-based scholarships for study abroad programs for African students who reside in West Point and Power Plant area and are academically strong and have demonstrated leadership qualities. The Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation does not offer general need-based aid or emergency funds; it also does not provide funding for any other purpose than study abroad programs in Africa.

Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization exempt from federal income tax under 501(C)(3). Your donations are tax-deductible for United States citizens.

For tax-related reasons, you will indeed receive a charity tax receipt. To save on administrative and postage fees, the tax receipt is delivered to you as an email attachment. This guarantees that all of your donation will support our scholarship initiatives.

Yes! During our research, tuitions in Liberia, West Africa typically costs $50, thus for a child living in severe poverty, $50 can give them the opportunity to be and stay in school. The lives of children who parents are in extreme poverty are tremendously impacted by even little gifts of $10 or $20. Larger contributions (such as $250, $500, $1,000, etc.) have a huge impact on several children whose education you are sponsoring.

Your contribution would go directly toward providing tuitions and school supplies which include bookbag, uniform, Notebook, Crayons, Erasers, Sharpeners, Highlighters, Ruler and calculator in Liberia, West Africa who are living in abject poverty. Because of your generosity, Children living in the slum of West Point, Liberia West Africa, who would otherwise be out of school or get kick out of school due to tuition will be presented with an opportunity to stay in school.  The outreach program of Beatrice Wleh Scholarship Foundation local team and employees are in charge of leading, managing, and executing the programs.
