The Torh and Amiekumo families hereby establish a scholarship in celebration of their mother, Beatrice Wleh. The scholarship is to provide support to a deserving student from the West Point and Power Plain area in Monrovia, Liberia. The scholarship will also be provided each semester to a necessitous student whose parents cannot afford the opportunity to further their education.
Beatrice Wleh was an illiterate woman, who saw the value in education and ensured that her children received the best in education. During this time, she went as far as to take out loans to ensured her children attended the best schools to receive the best education available.
The scholarship is geared towards full time students who possess a 3.0 grade point average and dropout students. The student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average to maintain the scholarship for each semester.
Interested applicants should complete a BWSF scholarship application.
Criteria include being West Point and Power Plain resident.
WHO WE HELP– We will provide West Point and Power Plain kids who want to overcome significant adversity and poverty with scholarships and support services to promote success in life through education.
HOW WE HELP– We provide financial assistance to
students with low income and students with good academic standards through semester base scholarship. The scholarship is renewable up to and including the completion of a bachelor’s degree.
WHAT WE OFFER-We support every scholarship recipient with training, tutoring, scholastic preparation, professional direction, and assistance with essential living requirements.
